'Our' Family Day 2013

'Our' Family Day 2013
8 & 9 Feb 2013
Batu Feringghi, Penang

Penang here we come!

Tergelak besar En Hubby bila saya tunjukkan itinerary family day yang dikirim oleh Uda - senarai aktiviti, menu & PIC. "Hebat, siap ada itinerary..." kata En Hubby sambil tersengih. Ini kali kedua kami akan berhari keluarga. Tahun lepas kami ke Darul Aman Golf Resort.. Tahun ini kami memilih Penang.

Day 1

Sekejap FIL, sekejap MIL, sekejap lagi BIL, bertanyakan lokasi kami. Aduyai.. Perjalanan hanya akan mengambil masa 1 1/2 jam, tapi suami bajet 3 jam sebab tu dia risau semacam. Nak kejar solat Jumaat katanya.

Kadar tambang - masa datang 5 tahun lepas lagi murah rasanya.. rupanya tambang dah naik since 1 May 2005. Patut...
Pst..pst.. untuk masuk ke Penang (pulau) kita hanya dikenakan caj sekali sahaja - s/ada naik feri atau jambatan. Saya baru tahu...Anda?

By 12.30 kami sampai di Butterworth, terus ke terminal feri. Kali terakhir saya ke Penang 5 tahun lepas. Perkhidmatan feri lebih cepat dan tersusun rasanya. Seingat saya, dulu-dulu sangatlah lama menunggu giliran naik feri. Kali ini, tidak sampai 1/2 jam pun. Or 15 minutes to be exact, i think.

Nasi Goreng Pattaya with Ayam Goreng Berempah - chef Umi

We reached the pulau at a wrong time, lunch hour and solat Jumaat break. It was a massive traffic jam but fortunately Hubby managed to perform solat Jumaat. For ladies and kids we had a picnic at a nearby beach. It was a hot but fun session! The kids were having their 'beach time' di bawah terik mentari jam 1.30 t/hari. LOL!

After lunch we drove to our apartment. Zzz............ We were separated to 2 groups. 2 families including MIL and older BIL stayed at level 5. Stok makanan semua with MIL. Bangun tidur everyone was hungry including the kids - serbu bilik Umi "kami datang nak makan!" Hahaha..

Then we brought the kids for swimming. This is definitely Mak Uda's & Mak Ngah's (its me...:) session. Kids were watched by Hubby so me and Uda conquer the adult pool. Lupa anak2 masa ni, asyik terapung atas air...:) Very relaxing.

Other than the stretch of beautiful sandy beach, Batu Feringhi is also famous for its' night market (uptown market). Kami hanya menjamu mata coz the items are just common - clothes, bags, toys etc. Nothing special for me, personally.

Abang muncung masa nie, nak pelampung tak dapat. Habis ditarik tangan Tok Umi minta belikan pelampung. Mahal naa anak oi, RM20 satu. Kalau 5 orang cucu Tok Umi, melayang la RM100...:)

Day2

We started our day early today. We plan to have our breakfast at the unit and then have fun at the pool. But older BIL has to leave early, so we changed our plan. We had our breakfast by the beach instead. Menu for today was spaghetti bolognese served with udang bakar (last nite's left-over), begedel and tea.

Mamu Baim & his beautiful partner - Wahidah

Then we rent a boat to get around. We event made a stop at Teluk Bahang to get petrol. Our boat was nearly run out of petrol so we stopped there while Mamu Baim (the boat owner) get the petrol. He took RM75 for the 30-minutes ride. It was an awesome and meaningful trip because all of our family members were there.

Kampung Nelayan Teluk Bahang

Then, we went back to our apartment and the kids continue their aktiviti mandi-manda. For me, I was assigned to prepare lunch and the menu was picked - Nasi Arab. At has to be ready by 12 because we were asked to vacant the unit by 12.30. By 12 it was DONE. Next stop is Taman Rimba Teluk Bahang for another trip of picnic. Older BIL already left with his family. After makan-makan we left for Alor Setar - makan nasi minyak pulak.

There goes our family day this year.
